Mountain Guide

Hansruedi Rösti is our local Swiss mountain guide. Ever since he was a kid, the mountains have been his passion. By the time he was seventeen, he had already made many hiking and climbing trips throughout Switzerland, France, and Italy with the Swiss Alpine Club. Among his summits were many of the classic north faces including the Eiger, the Matterhorn, and Mont Blanc.

In 1988 he turned his hobby into his vocation and has worked ever since as a fully licenced Swiss Mountain Guide with the International Mountain Guide Association (IGMA). He is also a certified ski instructor who has been chose for the Swiss Ski School Demonstration Team. For over 22 years, Hansruedi has trekked with his guests in summer and winter throughout the Bernese Oberland, the Valais, and around the Mont Blanc Massif. He also has climbed Mt. McKinley (6194 m) over the Cassin Ridge route and the Himalayan Dhaulagiri (8167 m).

Hansruedi usually spends the winter leading ski tours in the deep powder or scouting heli-ski expeditions. He is married with two kids and remains fascinated with nature. He lives with his family in Lenk and, in his free time, raises a herd of Scottish highland cattle.
