Letter from the Director
Dear Students,
The Winter Term will not be quite like anything you have experienced before. You will find in it the structure, the sports opportunities and the “interest in you” that are characteristic of a good summer camp. You will also find the academic challenge and careful teaching of an effective, dedicated school. You will have roommates, good food, plenty of skiing, and the exceptionally beautiful location where it all takes place. In a sense, you will be stepping out of the kind of world you are familiar with, for a period of about twelve weeks, and into a simpler, "uncluttered" environment where you will have a chance to realize noticeable improvement in specific areas and to measure yourself against what you would like to be. You can expect to leave The Winter Term with more effective study skills, a larger vocabulary, better keyboarding skills, the ability to write an extended report, a high level of skiing competency, new (and very close) friends, and a better idea of who you are.
All of this will not come to pass without your commitment to make the most of a special opportunity. We promise, however, that if you bring your best to Lenk, you will enjoy an extraordinary experience.
Sincerely,
Peter Harvey & Family
Director, The Winter Term
